La aceleraci\u00f3n de la electromovilidad y el almacenamiento de energ\u00edas renovables ha disparado la demanda de este mineral, convirtiendo su extracci\u00f3n en uno de los desaf\u00edos t\u00e9cnicos y ambientales m\u00e1s urgentes para los pa\u00edses del Tri\u00e1ngulo del Litio \u2014Chile, Argentina y Bolivia\u2014, que concentran las mayores reservas del mundo. En ese contexto, Santiago acoger\u00e1 los pr\u00f3ximos 5 y 6 de noviembre el 3er Simposio Internacional de Extracci\u00f3n Directa de Litio (DLE Symposium 2026), organizado por el Advanced Mining Technology Center (AMTC), centro ANID de la Universidad de Chile, en colaboraci\u00f3n con CEGA, KIT y UNTEC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El simposio se realizar\u00e1 en el Auditorio Enrique d&#8217;Etigny de la Facultad de Ciencias F\u00edsicas y Matem\u00e1ticas de la Universidad de Chile y convocar\u00e1 a investigadores, profesionales, estudiantes y representantes del sector p\u00fablico y privado vinculados a la industria del litio. La agenda abordar\u00e1 los avances m\u00e1s recientes en extracci\u00f3n directa de litio, tecnolog\u00edas sustentables, manejo de salmueras, reciclaje y econom\u00eda circular, e investigaci\u00f3n aplicada para la transici\u00f3n energ\u00e9tica. Las inscripciones y m\u00e1s detalles est\u00e1n disponibles en <a href=\"http:\/\/simposio.untec.cl\">simposio.untec.cl<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Para el Dr. Humberto Estay, director del AMTC, el encuentro responde a una necesidad que va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del intercambio acad\u00e9mico: \u00abEl litio se ha transformado en un recurso estrat\u00e9gico para la transici\u00f3n energ\u00e9tica global, pero tambi\u00e9n es uno de los grandes desaf\u00edos de sustentabilidad para la miner\u00eda del futuro. Frente al aumento sostenido de la demanda mundial y la necesidad de desarrollar tecnolog\u00edas m\u00e1s eficientes y responsables para su extracci\u00f3n, hoy m\u00e1s que nunca se requiere fortalecer la colaboraci\u00f3n entre ciencia, industria y tomadores de decisiones.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En ese marco, el AMTC llegar\u00e1 al simposio con propuestas tecnol\u00f3gicas propias. El Centro presentar\u00e1 LiSa y AMeLi, dos procesos basados en membranas desarrollados para complementar las tecnolog\u00edas de extracci\u00f3n directa y dar respuesta a desaf\u00edos espec\u00edficos de implementaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica, econ\u00f3mica y socioambiental. Seg\u00fan Estay, ambas soluciones apuntan a \u00abavanzar en una implementaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica, econ\u00f3mica y socioambientalmente sostenible\u00bb de los procesos DLE, aportando desde la investigaci\u00f3n aplicada a uno de los cuellos de botella m\u00e1s cr\u00edticos de la industria actual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El simposio est\u00e1 abierto tambi\u00e9n al env\u00edo de trabajos cient\u00edficos y t\u00e9cnicos por parte de investigadores y profesionales del sector.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El litio ocupa hoy un lugar central en la agenda energ\u00e9tica global.
